At today's community meet I expressed doubt at being able to change the minds of those who differ to our views, because the official narrative and signal is so strong.
On reflection, I think that it can be done and would suggest these guidelines: Firstly, engage people of goodwill, rather than those who just want an argument (unless you want an argument, in which case, go for it!).
Secondly, use the power of archetypes, which are already embedded in the other person's mind.
Thirdly, remember that you might be an archetype and that you can disrupt the other person's views by what you say and how you behave.
Fourthly, be consistent and be kind.
Fifthly, "don't try to get married on the first date", by which I mean that you need to build trust in order to influence the other person. Trust is a slow process and, if you try to hurry it up, you can put the other person off.
